I am interested in qualities of bread and bread dough and the metaphor's we have created for bread. Bread is life, but it is also death. Bread dough grows and expands because of the yeast growing inside it. It is fragrant, almost pungent in its aroma. When bread is baked, the yeast dies, and with it's death becomes consumable. Bread is referred to as the body of Christ in Christian symbolism. Bread is also associated with home, women, and baking.
