Still Life (Rubber Tree Series)
Still Life is an installation and performance piece about a granddaughter who lost her child and a grandmother who recently lost her husband. The narrative of the work is fiction, however the project is rooted in the autobiographies of the writer Marylin Haidri, myself, and our grandmother.
The narrative is centered around the two women wandering thru the grandmother’s garden. The granddaughter, a painter, worked on capturing the fleeting beauty of the garden.
The Rubber Tree Series is the illustration of every leaf on a rubber tree in my grandmother’s garden. Currently, the gallery only contains about half of the illustrations.
